See how it works

We support the filmmaking industry across the world by offering grants of up to £5,000 & £28,400 worth of kit hire courtesy of our partners Procam per round to filmmakers whilst taking no creative control.

It’s about you making your film. We welcome anyone at any stage of their career… we all started somewhere!

At Genera we make sure the power and creative control stays in your hands to allow you to make the film you want to make.

We don’t require months of workshops, vetting and auditions as we understand that this can be costly and time consuming. We would rather you spent that time making films!

We do this because there isn’t enough ‘no strings attached’ financial support for short filmmakers.

Why Genera?

  • Receive the funding you need.
  • One-off submission fee.
  • We take no creative control.
  • Straightforward and simple application.
  • Our partners provide offers and discounts.

“Film funding made simple” is an understatement. The rolling deadlines mean there’s no time wasted. There’s a quick turnaround and winners were selected when the application process was still fresh in mind (a big difference from traditional funding bodies). Genera has truly discovered and put into action a modern film financing mechanism to suit the needs of contemporary filmmakers. - Ethan Race (Bitter Taste)
